Entry from: Santa Fe, United States Entry Title: "Santa Fe - a cool city, literally and figuratively" Entry: "We woke up this morning to find a dusting of snow on our car and the temperature at cool 5 degrees not factoring in wind chill. It never got above 23 the entire day. I was told that's normal for this time of year. We had continental breakfast at the hotel and went out to explore the shopping district. Since we were in the southwest my shopping mission for the day was to find a pair of cowgirl boots. Our first stop was this boot store in the Plaza Mercado. They had the most amazing boots I had ever seen, they really were true works of art, hand crafted and custom made. Of course the ones that I loved were 00, but that was cheap compared to the 000 pair made out of alligator belly. I loved the idea of being a cowgirl but it wasn't worth 00 so I had to give up my dream of being a cowgirl and we moved on. The downtown shopping district was a shoppers dream and had streets upon streets of shops, cafes, bars, and Native American street vendors selling jewlery. The shopping district is a must see and do if you are in the area. My big purchases for the day included jalapeno beer bread, jalapeno corn bread mix and a brown southwest jacket with a fox collar.
